Namadi Sambo’s Education
He pursued his academic journey in the field of architecture. He attended the Kaduna Capital School for his elementary education and later proceeded to the Barewa College in Zaria for his secondary education. After completing his secondary education, he gained admission to the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) in Zaria, where he studied Architecture. He successfully earned his Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from ABU.
Sambo’s educational pursuits did not end there. He went on to obtain a Master’s degree in Architecture from the same university. His academic achievements in the field of architecture laid the foundation for his later professional and political career.
Namadi Sambo’s Political Career
Namadi Sambo’s entry into politics was marked by his involvement in the Kaduna State government. He served in various capacities, including Commissioner for Special Duties, Commissioner for Works and Transport, and Commissioner for Housing.
His political trajectory continued to ascend, and he later became the Governor of Kaduna State, serving two terms from 2007 to 2010. His tenure as governor was characterized by various developmental projects and initiatives in the state.
In 2010, Namadi Sambo was selected as the running mate to then-presidential candidate President Goodluck Ebele . The Jonathan-Sambo ticket won the 2011 presidential election, and Namadi Sambo assumed office as the 13th Vice President of Nigeria on May 19, 2010.
